Tehran – Israel has launched an attack on Iran. Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz confirmed the strike, stating that fighter jets carried out the operation on Friday morning.
According to The New York Times, the Israeli military targeted at least six military bases around Tehran. Among these, four locations are reportedly nuclear facilities.
Iran’s state media confirmed that Commander Hossein Salami of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) was killed in the Israeli strike.
International media reported that two prominent Iranian nuclear scientists, Mohammad Mehdi Tehranchi and Fereydoon Abbasi, were also killed in the attack.
Israel also claimed that Iran’s military chief Mohammad Bagheri, along with several senior military officials and nuclear scientists, were among those killed.
Meanwhile, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei has warned that Israel will face consequences for its actions.
