Birgunj – Authorities at the Birgunj checkpoint have stepped up surveillance following a surge in Covid-19 cases in neighboring India. Individuals entering Nepal via the border are being closely monitored, with brief health screenings conducted for passengers arriving by train.
The Parsa District Health Crisis Management Committee, during a meeting on May 29, decided to enhance health screenings at the border in an effort to curb the potential spread of the virus.
Rajesh Man Singh, Mayor of Birgunj Metropolitan City, recently inspected the health desk stationed at the border. He instructed concerned officials to maintain a heightened level of alertness and ensure the effectiveness of preventive measures.
