Kathmandu – Medium-pace bowler Nandan Yadav has debuted for the Nepali national team in the One Day International (ODI) cricket series currently underway in Scotland.
Yadav made his debut in today’s match against the Netherlands, which is part of the ICC Cricket World Cup League 2. He was handed his debut cap by the assistant coach of the Nepali national cricket team, Gyanendra Malla. He is the 42nd player to debut for the Nepali national cricket team in One Day International cricket. Yadav had not gotten a chance to play in the previous three matches of the ongoing series.
He got his opportunity to play after fast bowler Sompal Kami sustained an injury. According to Chumbi Lama, spokesperson for the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN), Sompal was injured during practice. Along with him, Gulshan Jha also sustained injuries during practice. Sompal has an injury to his right hand, and Gulshan has a knee injury.
