Kathmandu – The war between Israel and Iran, which began a week ago, is still ongoing. In response, many countries have launched evacuation efforts to bring their citizens to safety. Some major nations have even suspended operations at their embassies in Iran, while others have already repatriated their nationals.
Here’s how different countries are evacuating their citizens:
China
China has evacuated over 1,600 citizens from Iran and hundreds from Israel so far. The Chinese government has advised its citizens to exit through Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, Turkey, Armenia, or Iraq.
Australia
Australia has successfully evacuated around 1,500 citizens from Iran and approximately 1,200 from Israel. As soon as the conflict began, some Australians left Israel on their own, while others are being assisted by the government for safe evacuation.
India
As of Thursday evening, India has brought back 110 Indian students from Iran. The Indian government has stated it is preparing to evacuate Indian nationals wishing to return from Israel. Currently, around 30,000 Indians are residing in Israel.
Japan
To evacuate its citizens, Japan has deployed two military aircraft to Djibouti. There are approximately 1,000 Japanese nationals in Israel and around 280 in Iran.
Pakistan
Amid the Israel-Iran conflict, reports indicate that around 3,000 Pakistani nationals have left Iran.
Nepal
The Government of Nepal has stated that there are 5,500 Nepali nationals in Israel and 12 in Iran. It has requested those seeking evacuation to register their names with the Nepalese Embassy for rescue coordination.
